The situation
Rapid Logistics could not verify a single fuel claim. Riders submitted receipts, the office paid them, and nobody could establish which journeys had actually happened. Route planning was done from memory and customers called the office constantly for delivery updates.
What we built
We deployed GPS trackers with a telemetry pipeline feeding a live operations dashboard, paired with an offline-capable Android app for riders. Fuel anomalies and route deviations now raise alerts within a minute.
What it changed
- Fuel claims became verifiable against actual distance travelled, ending a persistent leak
- Dispatch moved from morning guesswork to assignment based on live rider position
- Customer service load dropped once tracking links replaced phone enquiries
- Insurance premiums were renegotiated using documented driver behaviour data
The fuel savings alone paid for the build in seven months. Now I can see every bike in the city from my phone.
